Discover How Leaving Feedback on TPT Will Make Your Wallet Happy!

Did you know that leaving feedback about paid TPT products can save you money?

That’s right — by giving paid resources a rating and writing a comment about them, you can reduce the cost of your future TPT purchases.  It’s easy and I’ll explain exactly what to do below.

Steps for Leaving Feedback

1) Click on the My Purchases link in your TPT account.  (See #1 in the screenshot below.)

2) Look at the list of products at the left.  OR, to find all the products you’ve bought from a particular seller, type in the store name in the search bar at the left.  (See #2 in the screenshot below.)  All that seller’s resources will appear.

3) To the right of the product title, you’ll see a button.  A black button will say Leave a Review.  But sometimes, TPT makes buyers wait a day or more and if that’s the case for a particular product, it will say Too soon to review.  (See #3 in the screenshot below.)

4) But if the button is black, that means you can leave a review right then.  Click on the button and you’ll be taken to another screen.

5) There, you’ll see the title of the resource and underneath, 5 gray stars.  Click on the stars to give the resource a rating.  (I always hope to get a 5-star rating — if you had a problem or an issue, I appreciate being contacted first so I have a chance to rectify it – but constructive criticism is also appreciated.)

6) Under the stars, you’ll see 2 boxes.  This is where you leave a comment about the resource.  The first box asks you to give your comment a title (just like TripAdvisor and Amazon) and the box under that is where you can give your feedback.  It doesn’t have to be long and the box includes a prompt to help you.

7) Below that, there are 4 optional questions with clickable responses; you can do this part or leave it blank.

8) Then click the green Submit button below that optional section to save your review.  You might want to copy and save your review first, though, in case something goes wrong and it gets lost; that way, you won’t have to start from scratch again.

Checking Out after Leaving Feedback

1) After you put a resource in your cart and are ready to check out, click on the link that says Account Balance in your TPT account. (See #4 in the screenshot above.)  It will take you to another screen with 3 boxes/links.  At the top left, it says Account Balance and below that is a dollar figure — that is how much you’ve earned from leaving reviews and is the amount that will be deducted from the cost of the resource(s) you’re buying now.

2) If you want, you can click on the middle box/link, the one that says TPT Credits Earned – View Credits. But you don’t have to do this or #3 and #4 below unless you want to get more info about your credits.

3) The new screen will list all your paid products and how many credits you earned when you left a review for those resources.  Please note that you don’t receive credits when leaving reviews on freebies.

4) As that screen explains: “Each credit has a value of 5 cents, so every 20 credits earned equals $1 you can apply to future TPT purchases.”  You need to have at least $1 worth of credits to get the discount.  That screen has a link you can click on for more info.

5) Regardless of whether you did #3 and #4 or skipped them, go to the checkout page and under where the price is filled and where it says Use a gift card and Use a promo code, you’ll see another box that says Use account balance.  Click that box and then enter the dollar figure from #1 above.

6) Click Apply and you’ll see the cost of the resource has been reduced. That is how much money you’ll save — yay!

Once you get in the habit of leaving feedback on the resources you have bought, you’ll start seeing credits in your account.  You can even use the credits during sitewide TPT sales.  And that is how you can save money when buying TPT products!
